There are many different types of work – all have worth & value

I am often drawn into a perfectionist mindset – I expect myself to immediately fix things that have gone wrong (or were wrong in the first place. For example: programs – particularly those that I have written – but also other stuff). In my mind I have decided that they should have been done perfectly the first time around and that there should therefore be no cost incurred to fix them.

At these times I need reminding that fixing problems is fundamentally a good thing and that very few things are created perfectly the first time around. Any costs incurred are part of the process of eventually getting things right (or as right as they can be right now).

So … here is the desktop wallpaper that I have created for myself to try to remind me that every stage of the process of creating and looking after things is worthwhile and has value. Please feel free to download and use it if you would also find it helpful.
